However, this course filled in the inevitable gaps that a less formal education will leave. This is no doubt the best investment I have made in photography.
Marc not only explains the principles very clearly, he also shows you the application of that knowledge. I recommend this course without reservations. You will be the better for it.

In this completely updated bestseller, author Martin Evening describes features in Lightroom 5 in detail from a photographer's perspective. As an established commercial and fashion photographer, Martin knows firsthand what photographers need for an efficient workflow. He has been working with Lightroom from the beginning, monitoring the product's development and providing valued feedback to Adobe.
As a result, Martin knows the software inside and out, from image selection to image editing and image management. It is difficult to separate my appreciation of Adobe Lightroom from my complete admiration of this book. Lightroom is AMAZING; and I could never have come close to learning so much about it without a careful perusal of Martin Evening’s guide. I am in awe of both Lightroom and the degree to which the author has revealed its subtlety. My only advice is to go through the entire book, beginning to end while trying out the various options; and to not do too much at a sitting. That may seem like trivial & exaggerated advice but Lightroom is so full-featured that even for someone who has used it happily for a few months I found that I, in fact, hardly knew it at all. The other tiny bit of advice is to keep a list of favorite keyboard shortcuts that you come across in your reading. There are way too many keyboard shortcuts (at least for me to remember) such that the all-inclusive lists available in various references are essentially useless. It’s better, in my opinion, to simply learn the twenty or so that I’ll actually use in my workflow.
