Just as there is a growing national need for CTE teachers, there is also a national shortage of CTE administrative leaders. From NOCTI and ACTE comes a brand new resource for new CTE administrators:. The first installment of this series includes key information on the fundamental skills needed for a CTE administrator to be successful.
Topics include developing faculty trust and cooperation, engaging employers, aligning the curriculum, developing board relationships, and understanding funding basics. NOCTI and Nocti Business Solutions have earned full accreditation from the (ICAC). This recent accomplishment ensures that a neutral third party has properly evaluated both organizations and held them up to international standards. ICAC accreditation signifies that NOCTI's career and technical education (CTE) assessments and certifications, as well as Nocti Business Solutions' technical skill assessments, follow the best international industry practices and standards outlined in ISO 17024.The accreditation of NOCTI is affiliated with the International Certification Accreditation Council (ICAC) and should not be confused with ANSI’s International Conformity Assessment Committee (ICAC) or ISO CASCO.
The integration of professionals from the community and the Career and Technical Education Center at Ellicottville is representative of the idea that school is not just a bridge to the world of work, but a road traveled together. For the past several years, two area professionals - Ray Steffen, the Collision Repair Manager from Emerling Ford in Springville, and Shawn Brushingham from Nationwide Insurance - have donated their time and expertise to assist the senior students in the Collision Repair program at the CTE Center by proctoring their NOCTI exam. National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) tests are a battery of assessments, which standardize tests for students studying career and technical programs in high schools and technical colleges across the United States.
Students who are successful in the written and performance measurements and complete internships will receive a National Technical Endorsement in addition to their high school credentials.
